Shiv Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor across Maharashtra. On February 19, 2024, students of D.Y. Patil Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (DYPIMED) and D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation (DYPCOEI) came together to commemorate this significant day in Indian history.

Objective: The objective of the celebration was to honor the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and instill a sense of pride and respect for his contributions to the nation among the student community.

Activities:
1. Inauguration Ceremony: The celebration commenced with an inaugural ceremony where faculty members and students gathered in the institutes. The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by a rendition of the Shivaji Maharaj’s ‘Jayanti Mangal’ song.

2. Guest Lecture: A distinguished historian and expert on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was invited to deliver a lecture on his life, achievements, and the relevance of his principles in the contemporary world.

3. Cultural Performances: Students showcased their talents through various cultural performances including traditional folk dances, skits depicting scenes from Shivaji Maharaj’s life, and musical performances featuring Marathi devotional songs dedicated to the king.
