Final Report: 12-Day Aptitude Development Program
Organised by the College of Dr. D. Y. Patil Management and Entrepreneur Development, Varale Placement Cell, in Collaboration with Gyanteerth
To bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, the College Placement Cell, in association with the training experts from Gyanteerth, successfully conducted a 12-day Aptitude Development Program. The primary objective of this initiative was to enhance students’ analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills, all of which are essential for competitive exams and campus placements.
Inaugural Session:
The program commenced with an introductory session led by the college’s Placement Team, who welcomed the students and shared the importance of aptitude skills in building a successful career. This was followed by the introduction of the Gyanteerth training team, who outlined the training structure and explained how each day’s session would target specific aptitude topics through interactive methods and practical application.
Day-wise Summary of the Program:
- Day 1:
The training began with an introduction to Coding-Decoding and Percentages. Basic concepts, types, and solving approaches were covered to set a strong foundation. - Day 2:
Students practiced more Percentage problems in-depth during the first half. In the second half, a new topic Dice was introduced with visual examples and pattern analysis. - Day 3:
Focus shifted to Advanced Dice problems, including hidden faces and orientation puzzles. The second half was dedicated to completing the topic of Profit and Loss. - Day 4:
Students solved Advanced Profit and Loss problems and were introduced to Ratio and Proportion, including practical applications in mixtures and partnerships. - Day 5:
Covered Direction Sense problems with compass-based techniques. Later, the concept of Averages was taught with both basic and combined average problems. - Day 6:
Focused on Advanced Average Problems and introduced Number Series, helping students identify and solve various pattern-based - Day 7:
Explored Advanced Number Series Problems and moved on to the topic of Cubes, including painted cubes, cutting, and face-counting - Day 8:
The session covered Advanced Cube Problems, followed by Time and Series, where students practiced time-based sequencing and chronological logic. - Day 9:
The first half involved solving Advanced Time and Work Problems using LCM and efficiency techniques. The second half introduced the Number System, including divisibility, HCF/LCM, and remainders. - Day 10:
A mix of logical and quantitative aptitude with Permutation & Combination in the first half and Blood Relations (both direct and coded forms) in the second half. - Day 11:
The entire session focused on Clock Problems, including angles between hands, mirror images, and meeting points explained through diagrams and shortcuts. - Day 12:
The final session featured Advanced Clock Problems and introduced the important topic of Probability. Students learned event-based probability, coin/dice problems, and applied real-life logic to solve
Conclusion:
The 12-day Aptitude Development Program proved to be highly effective and enriching. Each session was designed to gradually build students’ confidence, accuracy, and speed in solving aptitude-based problems. With expert guidance from the Gyanteerth trainers and active involvement from the students, the program successfully met its objectives. Students gained a deeper understanding of concepts that are critical not only for placement preparation but also for various national-level competitive examinations.
