DYPIMED undertook a visit to an Orphanage in Talegaon Dabhade

Introduction: On January 23, 2024, in commemoration of the 89th Founder’s Day, celebrating the birthday of Dnyandeo Yashwantrao Patil (popularly known as Dada), MBA and MCA students along with faculty members from D.Y. Patil Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (DYPIMED) undertook a visit to an orphanage in Talegaon Dabhade. This visit was not only a gesture of goodwill but also an opportunity to extend support to the less fortunate as part of the institute’s commitment to social responsibility.
Purpose: The purpose of the visit was twofold: firstly, to celebrate the Founder’s Day by honoring the legacy of Dnyandeo Yashwantrao Patil, the visionary behind D.Y. Patil Group, and secondly, to engage in a donation drive aimed at contributing essential items to support the orphanage and its residents.
1. Donation Drive: As part of the Founder’s Day celebrations, a donation drive The donations collected through the drive were presented to the management of the orphanage. The items, including rice, wheat flour, apples, chocolate biscuits, and the monetary contribution, were gratefully received and acknowledged by the staff.
2. Interaction with Children: Upon arrival at the orphanage, students and faculty members were warmly welcomed by the staff and children. An interactive session was organized where students engaged in various activities such as storytelling, games, and art and craft with the children. This not only brought joy to the children but also provided an opportunity for students to connect with them on a personal level.
3. Distribution of Donations: The donations collected during the drive were presented to the orphanage authorities. The children eagerly received the food items and treats with smiles on their faces, expressing their gratitude for the gesture of kindness.
4. Founder’s Day Celebration: A brief ceremony was held to commemorate the Founder’s Day and Dada’s birthday. Faculty members shared insights into the life and contributions of Dnyandeo Yashwantrao Patil, highlighting his vision and commitment to education and social welfare.
