1. Introduction
As part of the academic curriculum and to enhance industry exposure for MBA students, an industrial visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) was organized on 21st November 2025. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into logistics operations, port management, supply chain processes, and real-time cargo handling systems.
2. Objectives of the Visit
The main objectives of the visit were:
● To understand real-time logistics and port operations.
● To gain knowledge about container management, cargo handling, import–export processes, and documentation.
● To expose students to the operational workflow of India’s largest container port.
● To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry functioning.
● To enhance students’ understanding of supply chain and transportation systems.
3. Details of the Visit at JNPA
Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by the JNPA team. The session was led by Mr. Sanjay Patil Sir, who provided a detailed and structured explanation of:
● Port infrastructure and terminal layout
● Cargo handling systems and container tracking
● Role of technology and digitalization in port operations
● Safety and security protocols
● Import and export documentation
● Coordination between shipping lines, customs, and other stakeholders
Students also had the opportunity to observe real-time port activities, which enriched their understanding of the logistics ecosystem.

4. Additional Educational Visit
On the return journey to the institute, students visited the Shiv Samarth Smarak Sangrahalay, where they learned about the inspiring life journeys, achievements, and leadership qualities of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
This visit enriched students’ cultural and historical awareness.
5. Learning Outcomes
After the visit, students gained:
● Practical understanding of port logistics and supply chain operations
● Awareness of large-scale operational management
● Insights into coordination among various port stakeholders
● Understanding of transportation networks and cargo movement
● Exposure to leadership and historical values from the Shiv Samarth Smarak Sangrahalay visit
