Industrial Visit – Sula Wines, Nashik

Introduction:
On 22/12/2023, students embarked on an industrial visit and educational trip to Sula Wines located in Nashik, Maharashtra. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into the wine-making process and to understand the operations of a leading winery in India.

Objective:
To understand the process of wine production from grape cultivation to bottling.
To gain insights into the business and marketing strategies employed by Sula Wines.
To observe sustainable practices and environmental initiatives in the winemaking industry.

Itinerary:
Arrival and Welcome: The students arrived at Sula Wines in the morning and were warmly welcomed by the staff.

Guided Tour: The visit commenced with a guided tour of the vineyards led by experienced personnel from Sula Wines. Students learned about the different grape varieties cultivated, agricultural practices, and factors influencing grape quality.

Winery Visit: Following the vineyard tour, students were taken to the winery where they observed various stages of wine production, including crushing, fermentation, aging, and bottling. They had the opportunity to witness modern equipment and techniques used in winemaking.

Interactive Sessions: Students engaged in interactive sessions with experts from Sula Wines, where they discussed topics such as viticulture, oenology, branding, and marketing strategies.

Conclusion:
The industrial visit and educational trip to Sula Wines proved to be a highly enriching experience for the students. It provided them with practical exposure to the wine-making process, business operations, and sustainability initiatives in the industry. The trip not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also inspired a deeper appreciation for the art and science of winemaking.
