Industrial Visit to Baramati Hi Tech Textile Park Ltd. and Cottonking Pvt Ltd, Baramati for MBA students

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the industrial visit organized for the MBA 1st year students to Baramati Hi Tech Textile Park Ltd. in Baramati on 2nd June 2023. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the textile industry and its operations.
Additionally, the students also visited Cottonking Pvt Ltd, Pappermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd., and PromGirl Fashion Manufacturer to gain insights into their manufacturing processes and management practices. The visit was coordinated by Prof. Pramod Jadhav, along with the support of faculty members Dr. Harini Rajan, HOD MBA Dept., Prof. Sachin Kumbhar, Prof. Deepak Pore, Prof. Ritesh Phalake, and Prof. Sonal Kotulkar.
Objectives:
a) To provide students with a practical understanding of the textile industry and its operations.
b) To familiarize students with the manufacturing processes and management practices of the visited companies.
c) To bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
d) To enhance students’ knowledge and decision-making skills in the context of the textile industry.
Details:
a) Baramati Hi Tech Textile Park Ltd.:
i) Overview: The industrial visit commenced with a visit to Baramati Hi Tech Textile Park Ltd. Students were given an overview of the textile park and its facilities. They gained insights into the various stages of textile production, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing.
ii) Interaction with Industry Experts: Students had the opportunity to interact with industry experts Mr. Anil Wagh, Project Manager & Mrs. Vrushali Sawant, HR Manager, who shared their experiences and provided valuable insights into the textile industry. The experts addressed queries related to textile industry, textile park establishment, objectives of the park, company affiliations, market opportunities & challenges and market trends.
b) Cottonking Pvt Ltd:
i) Company Overview: The visit to Cottonking Pvt Ltd provided students with an understanding of the company’s operations and product portfolio. The company specializes in men’s clothing and is known for its quality products.
ii) Manufacturing Processes: Students witnessed the various stages involved in manufacturing men’s clothing, including fabric sourcing, cutting, stitching, and quality control. The company representatives explained the importance of maintaining quality standards throughout the production process.
c) Pappermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd.:
i) Company Introduction: Students received an introduction to Pappermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd., a prominent clothing manufacturer known for its women’s fashion wear. The company showcased its diverse product range and explained its brand positioning.
ii) Production Workflow: The students were given insights into the production workflow, from design conceptualization to sample creation, production planning, and distribution. The company representatives emphasized the significance of innovation and market research in the fashion industry.
d) PromGirl Fashion Manufacturer:
i) Company Profile: PromGirl Fashion Manufacturer specializes in the production of party wear and evening gowns. The students learned about the company’s focus on customization and its strategies for catering to specific market segments.
ii) Design and Manufacturing: Students observed the design and manufacturing processes involved in creating party wear garments. They gained insights into fabric selection, pattern making, cutting, stitching, and quality checks.
Key Learnings:
a) Industry Operations: The industrial visit provided students with a firsthand understanding of the textile industry’s operations. They learned about the different stages of textile production, manufacturing techniques, and quality control measures.
b) Manufacturing Processes: Students gained practical knowledge of the manufacturing processes involved in the clothing industry. They observed the use of advanced machinery, automation, and quality control systems to ensure efficiency and product excellence.
c) Management Practices: The visit also exposed students to the management practices implemented by the visited companies. They learned about production planning, inventory management, quality assurance, and market positioning strategies.
d) Real-world Applications: The industrial visit bridged the gap between theoretical concepts learned in the classroom and their practical application in the industry. Students gained a deeper understanding of how concepts such as supply chain management, production planning, and quality control are implemented in real-world scenarios.
Conclusion:
The industrial visit to Baramati Hi Tech Textile Park Ltd., Cottonking Pvt Ltd, Pappermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd., and PromGirl Fashion Manufacturer proved to be an invaluable experience for the MBA 1st year students.
The visit provided practical exposure to the textile and clothing industry, enabling students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. The interaction with industry experts, the factory tours, and the insights gained into manufacturing processes and management practices enhanced the students’ knowledge and decision-making abilities in the context of the textile industry.
