OBJECTIVES
1. To promote a culture of research, innovation, and scholarly activity among faculty and students.
2. To identify emerging areas of research relevant to academics, industry, and societal needs.
3. To encourage faculty and students to undertake research projects, publications, and consultancy assignments.
4. To facilitate collaboration with national and international research organizations, universities, and industries.
5. To provide guidance and support for obtaining research funding, grants, and patents.
6. To ensure adherence to ethical standards and quality in all research activities undertaken by the institution.
7. To recognize and reward excellence in research and innovation.
FUNCTIONS
1. To plan, coordinate, and monitor research activities across all departments of the institution.
2. To identify funding opportunities and guide faculty and students in preparing proposals for research projects and grants.
3. To encourage publication of research outcomes in reputed journals, conferences, and seminars.
4. To facilitate workshops, seminars, and training programs on research methodology, innovation, and ethics.
5. To foster interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives within the institution and with external organizations.
6. To maintain records of ongoing and completed research projects, publications, patents, and consultancy work.
7. To recommend policies, incentives, and support mechanisms to strengthen research culture in the institution.
8. To periodically evaluate research performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
POLICY:
1. Formation and Composition:
The Committee shall be constituted annually with a Chairperson, Secretary, Convener, Heads of Departments, and faculty members to oversee and guide all research-related activities across the institution.
2. Promotion of Research Culture:
The policy encourages faculty and students to undertake research projects, consultancy, publications, patents, and interdisciplinary research in emerging and relevant areas.
3. Funding, Collaboration, and Support:
The Committee shall identify funding opportunities, guide proposal submissions, and facilitate collaboration with national and international research organizations, universities, and industries.
4. Capacity Building and Ethics:
Workshops, seminars, and training programs on research methodology, innovation, ethics, and publication standards shall be organized to strengthen research skills and ensure adherence to ethical practices.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Documentation:
The Committee shall maintain records of ongoing and completed research projects, publications, patents, and consultancy work. Research performance will be periodically evaluated, and recommendations made for continuous improvement.
Recognition and Incentives
Excellence in research and innovation shall be recognized through awards, incentives, and support mechanisms to motivate faculty and students.
