Objectives of the Field Project
The Field Project is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practice. Its core objectives are to:
- Integrate theory and practice by giving students the opportunity to work on real-world business issues
- Provide experiential learning that goes beyond textbooks and traditional classroom instruction. Offer a platform to explore the functional aspects of each specialization Deepen students’ understanding of core management concepts and frameworks.
- Build an application-oriented approach that connects theory with practice
- Foster critical thinking, a professional mindset, and a result-oriented approach
- Draw out insights from the business environment of the student’s geographical region
Duration & Effort Breakdown
- The Field Project requires a total of 160 hours of work, distributed as follows:
- 120 hours — Fieldwork (data collection, site visits, interviews, surveys, etc.)
- 40 hours — Pre- and post-fieldwork activities (proposal writing, data analysis, report preparation)
- Timeline flexibility: Work can begin immediately after Semester I exams, continuing through the winter vacation and across Semester II — including weekends and public holidays — giving students ample time to plan around their schedules.
Nature of the Field Project
- Key rules that define how the project must be carried out:
- Must be directly related to the student’s chosen specialization
- Strictly individual — group projects are not permitted
- Must involve genuine fieldwork; purely online projects are not allowed
- Primary data collection is mandatory
- Can follow a quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approach
- May take the form of surveys, in-depth interviews, case studies, site visits, or observational studies.
